Victoria is not only home to the truly cosmopolitan city of Melbourne (which also happens to be the state capital), but it is also home to some of the most interesting tourist attractions around. Victoria is roughly triangular in shape and located on the main Australian continent. With roughly four million people within the city limits, Melbourne is the second largest city in all of Australia and has the urban amenities one would expect with those statistics. If you get tired of Melbourne and the urban vacation, then you are only a short way away from the Yarra Valley; one of the world’s premier wine growing areas. It is only about an hour’s drive from the center of Melbourne and you will be treated to a lot of interesting information and beautiful sights as you tour the winemaking areas of the valley itself. Or alternatively, there is also a drive out to Phillip Island up for grabs, where you can see baby penguins march up to their nests to roost. Whatever you are looking for in your tourism getaway, Victoria definitely has the ability to provide.
