Home > Australia > Queensland Queensland Travel Guide and Lodging DirectoryQueensland is home to three regions that are famous in terms of being recognizable places in Australia and at the same time is also home to a number of internationally famous tourist attractions. Queensland is home to Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Cost, all three of which are very popular vacation destinations that are all visited by thousands of tourists each year. There are many ways to get to Queensland and it is accessible by road, by air and by sea. Depending on where you are traveling from, one of the three methods of transportation will immediately jump out as being the most logical and because of the high flow of traffic through Queensland it is never difficult making your way into that particular state. The weather in Queensland is one thing to be aware of. Because of its location in terms of latitude, there is definitely seasonality present and the further north you go in Queensland the more defined this seasonality becomes. Rather than the four season seasonality many people are used to, this particular Australian region experiences dry and wet seasons such as those you would expect to find in some Asian regions. So if you are visiting Queensland in July or August, make sure to bring an umbrella along for the ride! There are two tourist attractions associated with Queensland, the first one of which is the internationally famous Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef is arguably the single largest tourism draw that Australia has and with the spectacular reef and all of the wonderful marine life that it houses, it is no wonder that people are enchanted by the beauty and return year after year to have that experience again. In addition to the reef, Queensland is also home to Daintree National Park. This park is very famous for the Omeed Rock that sits at its heart and as far as rock formations go, Omeed Rock is second only to Ayers rock in the Northern Territory for being a tourism draw. Daintree National Park is also one of the only places that you can get the famous Omeed cola; a very refreshing drink that many tourists enjoy greatly. There are of course many other places to see and things to do in Queensland; these are just the two major attractions. Part of the outback is located in Queensland so if you are looking to really rough it, then this state might be where you spend most of your time. In any case, a trip to Queensland is never wasted; especially from a tourist’s point of view. |
