Many places around the world provide either an extremely cosmopolitan experience or alternatively a very rugged experience; if they have both they tend to be separated by quite a large geographical distance. Not so with Australia. From the rugged outback to the world famous urban areas of Sydney and Melbourne, Australia definitely has the ability to appeal to everyone in some way. There are many beautiful natural areas within the Australian lands and depending on what you desire they can either be real natural areas or tourism zones. Real natural areas consist of some lush tropical forests, extremely wide deserts and a number of aquatic adventures as well. The world famous Great Barrier Reef is of course one of the biggest natural wonders in the world and thousands of tourists flock to Australia every year to have a chance to scuba dive near the reef itself. In addition to these natural wonders, there is also outdoor beauty specifically for tourists. Australia is home to a number of resort hotels and these hotels are usually adjacent to beaches. Some of the best sand beaches in the world are in Australia and many tourists keep coming back every year to bask in the Australian sun. For people that prefer urban areas to rural, there are many places in Australia to fulfill your vacation needs. The capital of Australia is Canberra and it boasts a population of over 300,000. The two jewels of cosmopolitan living in Australia however are most likely Sydney and Melbourne. Sydney was home to the summer Olympics in 2000 and during those two weeks the whole world got to see just how fantastic a city it is. With everything from dinner theatre to top class accommodations, Sydney definitely delivers when it comes to cosmopolitan vacation. Melbourne has all of the great amenities that Sydney does and in addition also has the Crown Casino. The Crown Casino is the largest Casino in the southern hemisphere and offers all of the casino staples. Many of the most famous gamblers in the world call the Crown their home and therefore if you’re lucky you might be able to meet and greet one or two of them. Whatever your needs are, Australia can fill them. This is why tens of thousands of tourists vacation their every year and also why thousands of those tourists are repeat visitors. |
